‘India trying to suppress Kashmiris’ just struggle forcefully’

In occupied Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz Jammu and Kashmir, Yasmeen Raja, has said that India is trying to crush the Kashmiris’ just struggle for their right to self-determination through use of brute force.

Yasmeen Raja in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed concern over the killing of Ghulam Nabi Mir, a Kashmiri youth, who received sever injuries after beaten by Indian troops and succumbed to his injuries at Soura Hospital.

She paid glowing tributes to the martyred youth and sympathised with the bereaved family. “Indian troops are perpetrating gross rights’ abuses in the territory,” she maintained.

Appealing the United Nations, Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), the US and China to take cognisance of the human rights violations in the occupied territory, APHC leader said that resolution of the Kashmir dispute was vital for peace and stability in South Asia.

On the other hand, Senior Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front-R (JKLF-R), Javed Ahmad Mir in a statement said that it was a high time to resolve the dispute according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Describing the appointment of interlocutors by India as a futile exercise, he said that the longstanding dispute could only be settled through tripartite talks including Pakistan, India and the real Kashmiri leadership.

Meanwhile, the Acting Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Riffat Fatima, in a statement termed the appointment of interlocutors as an attempt by the India government to hoodwink the international community.
