Gaza: Anniversary of Destruction – Children malnourished, water contaminated, states do nothing…

This week marks the second anniversary of the horror inflicted on the people of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli unleashes its military might on Gaza from December 27 to January 18, 2009. It uses US supplied latest of bunker buster missiles, F16 bombers and other weapons.

During the 22 days, Israel kills 1,334 Palestinians, one-third of them children, injures 5,450, one-third of them children, displaces 100,000, made homeless 50,000, destroys 4,100 residential homes and buildings, destroys 29 educational institutions, destroys or damaged 92 mosques, destroys 1,500 shops, factories and other commercial facilities, 20 ambulances, ruins 35-60 percent of agricultural land and causes an estimated damage of US$ 1.9 billion in total estimated damages.

Two years later, the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza remains unchanged. Its people die slowly, its children are malnourished, its water is contaminated. And states do nothing to end the siege…
